Why I’m Starting a Substack
Hello I’m Sarah. I have recently finishes a MS in Agriculture and am meandering on what to do next.
1. Creative Outlet to be a “Lifelong Learner”
I have a lot of hobbies, interests and a nonstop track running through my head. I’m not sure what this page will become. It may be an essay diary, a place to publish my research rabbit holes, or become a niche of one of my interests but for now there are no limits. Some of said hobbies that may appear are reading, agriculture, horses, running, and writing. I have a need to learning, critical thinking, peruse goals, and have always loved writing research, so why not focus the revolving door in my head into posts.
2. Tough Week
While I’ve heard of substack through the Bad on Paper Podcast; I am starting one because of a mini crisis. Work is slowing down, I’m in a reading slump, I am no longer in the trenches of masters work, I have some turmoil about where to go next, and my cat is missing. This all combines to put my in a headspace in need of an outlet.
3. Agriculture
I potentially want to use this as a resource for people to learn about agriculture through extension like posts or essays on the agriculture mindset. I’ve always had a passion for agriculture, animals, and helping people understand its value.
4. Cowboy Ugly
Sort of my alter ego. I am qutie shy and introverted. This feels like a safe place to hide but also branch out into the scary place that is the internet.
